33. Same type of alkanes but different forms
34. (on paper)
35. Straight chain alkane
36. Both are correct.
37. Paper
38.

14. CO2 and water vapor are greenhouse gases.
15.
a. Burning gas and coal, photosynthesis, and burning fossil fuel.
b. Refining fossil fuels, raising livestock, riding animal wastes
16.
a. For it to be hotter, there would need to be more greenhouse gases on earth
b. For it to be cooler, there would need to be less greenhouse gases on earth
17. Glass is much warmer because in allows the heat in, but once in they are trapped which leads to the temperature rising.

Extra Credit
Singapore has a population said to be 5m people. With a number so large, its land mass is not big enough to support all the inhabitants. With a water being an issue, the Singaporean government has fallen under the thought of using distilled water. Though the distillation process is costly, the government has teamed up with a German engineering company that claims they can cut the price range in half. Making distillation a reasonable idea. They are running one demonstration plant now, however the construction of the full plant has already begun and its on its way to changing the lives of many in Singapore.

Blog Question: For you, what has been the most valuable learning from summer Chemistry (and why)?
I think that my most valuable thing I learned from this summer chemistry course was responsibility. I feel like in order to be successful in this class, the key thing was responsibility. If it was doing homework every night and posting it on your blog. Or studying in order to do well on the quiz at the end of the week. In this class there was a lot of work that was pushed into six weeks, so responsibility was the greatest role in success, and learning.

Homework #9
p344 #1 - 4
1. Infrared radiation cannot get into our atmosphere as well as ultraviolet rays.
2. Visible radiation energizes electrons, this is what makes sunsets red.
3. In humid areas the air is more expanded, in dry areas can be cool or warm based on the climate,
4.
a. Hotter in the day because of the earths more dense.
b. Colder because the earth would be less dense.

Homework #8
p204 #7-13
7. Alloy is a new made substance physically combined by different metals.
8. Steel, this is made from iron, and carbon. Brass, this is made from zinc and copper.
9. Carbon
10. Steel, which is used mainly in kitchen wear and cooking supplies, is 99% and 1% carbon does not rust.
11. Metalliods are semiconductors because they are in between metals and nonmetals. The can barely conduct electricty and be malleable .
12. Gallium, Arsenic, sillicon
13. Doping technology is so that we can make less reactive elements more reactive.
